2000
Didn't get into med school, so I opted for Biology so I could cross to med school later. Realized I didn't wanna study medicine as I hated the sight of blood. Changed my Major to Comp Science. Dad was really pissed. Further confirmed Medicine & Surgery was his dream, not mine.
started college. plan was to study medicine & surgery to become some type of doctor.
2005
Kept chugging along. Then I discovered design and my life changed. Spent way too many hours designing websites and graphics in Adobe Dreamweaver & Corel Draw. Loved every minute of it. Convinced my Professor to let me design a website for my final year project.
dad finally gave in. i wasn't sure if i liked comp science, but then how many 25 yr olds really knew what they wanted out of life?
2007
I mean, nothing seemed better than being a female engineer. Pops was finally proud of me. Customers I served wanted their girls to be like me. I forgot about design for a while. Life was good. Or so it seemed.
got my first job after college. i was officially a network & transmission engineer. still in love with design but the money was too good to pursue my passion.
2009
Graduated with a distinction. Got married. Got pregnant. Travelled across oceans to build a life with my husband. Couldn't work for seven years. Borderline depressed. Went back to design and started working for an agency. Took lots of freelance gigs.
Went back to grad school in 2017 to get a second Master's degree. Went back to corporate, this time to really do what I love as a UX Designer.
got a half scholarship for a masters in telecom management in india. took it because i was bored anyways.
2023
Realized I'm really good at this thing called design. And a host of other things too. Also realized time stops when I'm designing.
